AP former CM Chandrababu Naidu arrested at Nandyala in Skill Development Case
Nandyala, Sept 09: Andhra Pradesh former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was arrested at 6 am on Saturday at R. K Function Hall in Nandyala under corruption charges in Skill Development Case. The APCID police transporting N. Chandrababu Naidu to the CID Head Quarters, Vijayawada after completion of the medical check-up to him in Nandyala.
The APCID DSP Dhananjay issued notice under 50 (1) of CrPC to Chandrababu Naidu in person and took endorsement. He explained Chandrababu about his arrest in Skill Development Case. Chandrababu Naidu was named as A-1 and AP TDP Chief Accham Naidu as A-2 in the case.
APCID arrested him under Prevention of Corruption Act 1988. The APCID registered a case under CrPC Sections 120 (B), 166, 167, 418, 420, 465, 468, 201, 109 R/W 34 & 37 IPC. The AP Skill Development agreement was done with Siemens company with 3, 356 crores to develop the skills in the youth. As per the agreement the Siemens Company have to invest 90% and 10% from AP Government in the Skill Development Project.
The AP Government released Rs. 374 crores of their 10% share to the Skill Development Corporation. But, the Siemens Company has not paid a single pie. The State Government released funds are transferred to Digi Tech and other two companies to perform their duties. This amount was misused and money laundering to the then Government Heads.
The Siemens Company categorically gave a statement in a Court that they have not entered any agreement with AP Government for Skill Development Project. The Central Government investigation agencies ED and IT also investigating this case. The ED arrested four members in connection with the case. APCID also earlier arrested eight members in this case.
